NOOKA WHAT I FOUND

Last night I visited the NOOKA offices for their holiday friends and family sale.  It was great to see and be able to try on all their different watches.

If you haven't heard of NOOKA before you should definitely check them out.  They make watches as well as iPhone covers, belts, cologne (which is surprisingly good!) and Sunglasses (Spring 2010).  NOOKA watches take a fresh new look at how we view time.  Many designs are stylish for dressing up as well as fun for a weekend at the beach or just running around town.

PUT YOUR MONEY WHERE YOUR MOUTH IS



Human Rights Campaign recently released its Buying for Equality "Buyers Guide 2010" which helps us support businesses that support us with every purchase we make.  They list companies and their products we should be purchasing as well as the ones we shouldn't.

A great resource to keep on hand because while some companies like Absolut and Ikea are very verbal about their support of equality, other supportive companies like American Airlines, Bank of America and Citi might not be top of mind (all three of which are Platinum sponsors to HRC).

This demonstration (click "how to shave" and watch the tutorials) of Nivea's new all in one shower, shampoo & shave gel is bordering on soft core porn.  Rory already uses the sensitive skin body wash but I am going out today and buying some of this one for Rory and I to try, perhaps together!

Update:  So I bought and tried the Nivea for Men shower gel.  While it's a pretty color and smells great it doesn't work very well.  There was a lack of lather, as compared to the image above.  Surprisingly, it was actually a good shampoo but I'm going to pass on buying it as my choice of shampoo.

NYC FOOD & WINE FESTIVAL

Awhile back our friend and guest writer Justin Laird posted this article about the new Diet Coke bottle design.  Over the weekend he snapped the above photo at the Food Network's NYC Food & Wine Festival.  Looks like the new design is literally taking off for Diet Coke.

The new Dyson bladeless fan, dubbed "The Air Multiplier" is a completely new innovation in fan technology.  The concept derived from those fancy Dyson Airblade Hand Dryers you generally see in airports.  You know the ones, they make your hands feel like they're skydiving in a 400 mph wind tunnel.

Typical fans create air flow by chopping and pushing air with rotating blades.  The Dyson Air Multiplier, by contrast, blows a single sheet of air from a thin opening towards the rear of it’s circular wing.  The video above explains in more detail the birth and inner workings of this new technology.

Now, before you get too excited keep in mind the cost.  The 10" fan model will run you $299.99 and the 12" fan model costs $329.99.  Though for a fickle gay home with small children this might just be the perfect solution to keeping cool in the summertime.

This summer finds beverage giant Coca Cola reaching out to the “upscale consumer set” to test market a sleek and stylish new aluminum bottle.  Serving up a refreshing 8.5 oz (250ml for the EuroGays), the bottles are currently only available at select night clubs, bars, special events and of course, Fire Island Pines Pantry!

Will this chic design catch on with the test market of gays with great botox “younger consumers" who are always looking for the next new thing?  This gay says bottoms up!
